Zara Teak & Rattan Bar Stool (65cm Seat Height)

A meticulously shaped frame, made by hand at our Jaya Indah workshop in Bali from teak grown for a minimum of five years and kiln-dried before it's worked. A natural lacquer finish brings out the grain rather than masking it. The seat and backrest are woven over two days using a dual-layer twisted rattan, chosen for its flexibility, water resistance and gentle give. No two pieces are exactly the same.

This Bar Stool's Story

We take a great deal of pride in sharing the story behind each piece. Our bar stool collection is crafted by Hari in Bali, Indonesia. Hari has spent over twenty years working with teak and rattan at our Jaya Indah workshop in Bali. Every piece that leaves his hands carries the same care and precision, shaped by decades of practice few can match.

 Explore Our Crafting Process

FLEGT Certified Mature Teak

Our teak is matured for a minimum of five years before it reaches our workshop. Cheaper, faster-grown alternatives you may see elsewhere are more susceptible to cracking, warping and inconsistent grain. We don't use them.

Made In Small Batches

We make these in small batches. By purchasing a Zara, you're joining a small number of people who own one.

Water & Stain Resistant

The teak is coated in a natural lacquer for protection, while the rattan blend carries its own resistance to water and staining. Practical as well as beautiful.

During a round the world trip, we encountered small, often family run workshops and knew we wanted to support their craft, and bring a few pieces home with us. Visit Our Showroom

We have a small showroom within our warehouse in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, where you can view a wide selection of products including selected furniture items, bar stools & chairs. Should you wish to see something in particular we can arrange for it to be brought in from the warehouse if you give us 24hrs notice of your planned visit.
