Made in batches of 15 at our Jaya Indah workshop in Bali, built from solid teak grown for a minimum of forty years. The seat is woven by hand from a durable durable rattan blend in a dual layer, chosen for soft comfort, its resistance to stains and moisture, and built to live in a busy kitchens. Because every piece is shaped by hand from natural wood, no two are exactly alike.

Design Considerations

Aged Teak, Built to Last
The teak used in every Zara Bar Stool is grown for a minimum of forty years before it reaches our workshop. Older growth means denser wood, which resists cracking, warping, and wear far better than the faster-grown alternatives used by most furniture brands.

Natural Lacquer Finish
Each frame is finished by hand with a natural lacquer that enhances the grain rather than masking it. The result is a surface that looks better with age, not worse.

Dual-Layer Rattan Weave
The seat and backrest are woven from a dual-layer twisted rattan blend, chosen for its natural resistance to moisture and stains, its gentle flex underfoot, and its ability to hold its shape over years of daily use. Unlike single layer stools, dual-layer offers a more premium built, that spreads weight more evenly for prolonged comfort.

Responsibly Sourced Materials
Both the teak and rattan are responsibly harvested, chosen not just for their quality but for how they are grown and gathered.
