Loka Banana Leaf Dining Chair

The Loki Chair is crafted by hand from natural banana leaf, carefully dried and tightly wrapped to create a textured weave with its own unique colour and tone. Unlike mass-produced rattan, each piece has subtle variations that bring warmth and detail to a dining space. The woven finish has a natural spring and comfort that feels relaxed and supportive, while the solid teak frame keeps everything sturdy for everyday use.

Crafted in Bali by hand, the Loki Chair begins with natural banana leaves that are harvested, dried in the sun, and prepared for weaving. Each leaf is carefully twisted and wrapped to create a dense, textured weave with its own tones and markings. The seat and backrest are woven directly onto a kiln-dried teak frame, giving the piece both natural comfort and lasting strength. Shaped, sanded, and finished in small workshops, only four have ever been made, making it an exceptionally rare example of traditional craft.

Each piece is made from solid teak and a high-quality rattan blend, both chosen for their strength and durability. The teak is kiln-dried to remove moisture, ensuring the wood hardens properly and stands the test of time. The rattan blend won’t sag or discolour, meaning your chair will look just as good years from now as the day you bought it.
